PROGRAM SATURDAY May 11 17:00 before DK Treasure CANCELED DUE TO ILLNESS ‼️ Dear dance lovers, due to the performer's sudden illness, we are forced to cancel Saturday's PLI performance 😔 We are very sorry, but we firmly believe that we will be able to bring this wonderful project to another date. The performance takes place in cooperation with the TANEC PRAHA 2022 festival. 22 conference chairs, an obsessive rhythm and one determined man. The show, which straddles the border between installation, performance, dance and circus, shows in an entertaining way that even everyday objects can be transformed into incredible pieces of architecture. PLI follows the baroque philosophy of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, but replaces the robustness and flamboyance of that time with the simplicity and minimalism of the scenic design. Concept, choreography and interpretation: Viktor Černický Dramaturgy: Lukáš Karásek Lighting design: Zuzana Režná Scenography : Drahomír Stulír In 2019, PLI's production won the Main Award of the Czech Dance Platform and the Audience Award and was presented as part of the prestigious dance show Aerowaves Spring Forward 2020 in Rijeka, Slovenia. Viktor Černický graduated from the studio of the Physical Theater in Brno. His works, often built from the search for a relationship between the subjective body of the performer and the object, develop into boundary forms on the border between dance, physical theatre, contemporary clowning and circus. As a performer, he collaborated with, for example, Jaro Viňarský, Dominique Boivin, Daniel Gulek, Miřenka Čechová or Cie Mossoux - Bonté. As a solo creator, he presented the performances PLI (2018) and PAROLAPOLEA (2016), with which he received a nomination at the Czech Dance Platform 2017 in the categories Dancer of the Year and Dance Production of the Year. He was also awarded a special prize in the form of participation in the Choreographic Research Week in Bassano del Grappa.

We will visit different layers of the body together, we will focus on states or qualities of movement, forces and movement possibilities that are inspired by the internal movements of the Earth, its various components and the processes that shaped them. This time will be an invitation to explore the personal stories that have made us who we are. First of all, it will be time to connect with your own body , time for movement and creative process. The seminar consists of movement- and creativity-focused meetings, during which we will use and create scores, so that at the end everyone can create their own score , their own dance - a performative experience. What is a performance, when and how does a performative act take place? Who is it for? This seminar will be about the relationship to the body, about the relationship to the place, about the realization that even in stillness there is movement . It is intended for everyone who is interested in the body and movement. To anyone who is interested in opening a space for a deeper understanding and connection with a certain place. Understanding the body of the Earth as well, which created the environment and conditions for our existence. The content and topic of the meeting is based on the research of Zden Brungot Svíteková, which was born out of curiosity and interest in the geomorphological and tectonic reality of Slovakia. About its origin and the geological processes that this area has undergone. This research was and is a fascinating journey in space and time , in the deep time of Earth's history. He influenced Zdenča's understanding of matter, dimensions, processes, space and time, but also the complexity of the seemingly simple question "what is here?". In order to answer it, it is also necessary to answer the question "where?" and when?" Zden Brungot Svíteková works as a performer , creator and researcher . In his work, he seeks creative dialogue in the context of interdisciplinary cooperation. Her artistic practice is shaped by a somatic approach to the body and a conceptual approach to creation. She is also interested in communication as something we do every moment of the day and how its quality shapes our lives. She is also a co-founder and active member of the Ostružina association. "I see dance - and movement - as fundamental ways of experiencing life and being in the world with all its complexities given by nature and human existence. I believe that our bodies have an inner intelligence that is the result of more than three billion years of evolution - from the moment the first cell was formed . Instead of gaining control over the body and the places we inhabit, we have the opportunity to develop ways to listen to them." This time, Zden Brungot Svíteková invited theater director Marika Smreková to collaborate, who in her five-year artistic research dealt with community art, off-stage folklore and audience involvement in performative theater. Many of her performances took place in the form of performative walks and journeys that connected the outputs of workshops for artists and the public. In the context of the relationship between man and nature, Marika deals with the questions: "What is nature for us and what are we for nature?" What does nature give us and what do we give it in return?". She would like to bring these questions into the current workshop and through art contribute to the search for the transformation of man into a more considerate being for both human and non-human actors and the landscape in general. Marika Smreková (SK) is a theater director and curator of the art and community festival UM UM, which she organizes in her native Stará Lubovna in northeastern Slovakia. Through his work, he seeks an answer to one of the basic artistic questions: "Can art lead to a positive transformation of society?". She is currently engaged in connecting performance art, environmental activism and topics related to emancipatory motherhood.

  • Recyklácia v pohybe | Move Ostrava

PROGRAM BUY TICKETS FRIDAY 18th of March 17:30 - 20:30 Studio Yogista, Lower Vítkovice, Ostrava SATURDAY March 19 9:30 - 12:30 You can attend both days or just one. Recycling in motion is about free inspiration from the magical world of coaching aimed at self-development and their integration into contemporary dance training. For dance, they provide the possibility to work with the continuity of movement, relaxation and tension in a new way, but last but not least, they allow us to model the image of an endless, emerging and disappearing bodily expression. Man as a pendulum, as a researcher, as a desire that does not stop, as a fragile mass and at the same time still safe. The workshop is intended for both dancers and dance enthusiasts as well as anyone who has experience with movement. It is great for professional dancers, dance school students, but also for anyone who processes a lot of pressure in the work process. It is very stressful these days, it is great to be able to process not only in the head, but also with the body. The workshop deals with processing pressure for performance in movement, working with energy. The goal is to help participants stay efficient and accurate and not spend more than necessary. You will also be expected to work with tension and efficiency. Photo: Natálie Zajačićová "For a long time, I have been engaged in creative research on the dialogue between dance and functional movement. I am inspired by examples of different physicality, not only that which I come to as a dancer through the techniques of contemporary dance. I am interested in what functional movement offers in the process of composing choreography, and at the same time I am also researching self-maintenance techniques, ways dealing with energy, effort and work with a concrete physical experience as a starting point for the creation of dance material." Lukáš Bobalík You know that this workshop would be essential for you and it would advance you in your work, but is it currently beyond your financial means? Send a brief CV and motivation letter to jsem@moveostrava.cz by 14.3. and we'll let you know on 3/15 if we've decided to support you. The workshop will take place in the Jogista studio in Dolní Vítkovice - above the Etáž bar, opposite the Cokafe cafe on the 2nd floor. The best way to get there is by tram to the Důl Hlubina stop, on foot over the footbridge at Nová Karolina, or by car to the parking lot on Vítkovická Street.

DIVADLO ŠTÚDIO TANCA SEN SATURDAY 4/27 14:00, 16:00 DIVADLO LOUTEK OSTRAVA BUY TICKETS Little and big ones, join us on an adventurous journey into the world of dreams, where nothing is impossible! We'll take children, adults, and whole families into the realm of dreams and together peek beneath the veil of their magical mysteries and deep meanings. Would you like to know the answers to questions like "How does dreaming work?" or "What does it actually mean?" According to us, dreaming is like a journey into the depths of our selves and the factors that shape us as human beings. Dreams have inspired many myths and legends, including the choreographer of this production and artistic director of the Divadlo Štúdio tanca , Zebastián Méndez Marín. The performance "Sen" (Dream) contrasts the world of wakefulness with the world of sleep through top-notch dance performances, a strong atmosphere, and humor. Alongside brilliant movement, you'll experience magical lighting design, playfully magical set design, and captivating music. Behind the set design and costumes is Ivana Macková: "We work with the concept that a dream is actually a modified reflection of reality. We float among the clouds or pedal on a magical wheel." "The world of wakefulness and the world of dreams are just stories told by our minds. Can we shape our dreams during sleep, and can we change our reality while awake?" asks Zebastián Méndez Marín. "Sen" is a performance primarily intended for children and families. The production features children who attend dance classes at the Divadlo Štúdio tanca. Working with domestic and international dance artists inspires, motivates, and spreads ideas of tolerance, understanding, and teamwork among children. "Children can fully focus on the present activity and are not disturbed by what will be or what has been. They are the best players in life," says assistant choreographer and director Lívia Balážová MM. Monika Kováčová took care of the dramaturgy assistance: "Each of us dreams – pleasant, frightening, bizarre, or unforgettable... – but have you ever dreamt in dance?" KARSTEIN SOLLI & ØYSTEIN ELLE ROCK ME BABY SATURDAY 6/8 10:00, 16:00 DIVADLO LOUTEK OSTRAVA TICKETS AVAILABLE SOON Vstupenky NA MOVE představení je možné zakoupit formou „Pay What You Can“. To znamená, že si z 5 nabízených cen můžete sami vybrat tu, kterou vám vaše finanční situace a láska k tanci dovolí. THE PERFORMANCE IS PART OF THE FESTIVAL TANEC PRAHA . Punk-rock concert for toddlers, babies, little rascals, children, students, youth, and their parents! Expect glittering costumes, spiked hair, and a bunch of lively guys. Surprisingly, we're not talking about the headliners of summer music festivals, but about a Norwegian dance crew bringing a true rock experience to Ostrava for the youngest audiences and their dads (and tough moms). But feel free to come without the little ones. Rock Me Baby is a show for all age groups that will rock your world while soothing your soul. Výše zmíněné hluboké emoce, kontrastní změny i technická náročnost k současnému tanci neodmyslitelně patří. Stejně tak však lehkost, s kterou Fantasie F moll začíná a radost z pohybu, která čiší z dynamické druhé poloviny skladby. A přesně takový je tento pohybový hravý duet dvou mladých streetových tanečníků. Přijďte v neděli 16. června do Farské zahrady zažít setkání vážné hudby s nezkrotnou energií tance! Za sladkých tónů klavíru zažijte neodolatelný mix současného tance a street dance. Slibujeme, že vás uchvátí rytmická práce nohou, spontánní taneční výraz a živelná radost z pohybu. Připravte se na nezapomenutelný zážitek plný hudby, pohybu a jejich společné energie! Sadly, our society remains trapped in stereotypes, many of which are nonsensical and absurd. If there is something that fiercely defies and refuses to obey, it is the Norwegian dance show Rock Me Baby , created for the little spectators and not just their fathers. Five queer performers in sparkly costumes, conspicuous make-up and punk hairstyles present something totally unexpected, playful and very sensitive. Its authors, Karstein Solli and Øystein Elle, have extensive experience with young audiences, and their work is based on complex research on stimuli that are comfortable for our little ones. Even though Rock Me Baby may feel like pretty hard stuff, including sound, it is adapted to the needs of young audiences. The result is a welcoming, playful, and creative show that reaches out to the audience, entertaining and enthusing anybody watching it with an open heart and mind. • The Penguin Project | Move Ostrava

THE PENGUIN PROJECT In "The Penguin project", together with Shawn Wright and Florián Lanstädter, partners from the Innsbruck cultural center Die Bäckerei , we have been dealing with the question "How can workers (not only) in the cultural sector keep their spark?". Not only in culture, but also in other sectors in which people put their soul and emotions into work or creation, there is great enthusiasm and a great investment of their own energy. However, it burns out after a shorter or longer period of hard work, and with it the enthusiasm of its wearer. That is why we have invested our own energy in several years of research, a series of interviews and workshops, and we believe that together we have developed an original and effective approach to solving the problem of how to maintain joy and spark in your work commitment in the long term. THE SPECIFICS OF THE SECTOR Work in the cultural sector (and generally in the non-profit sector) almost always has two faces: On the one hand, cultural workers are enthusiastic, full of enthusiasm, loyal and deeply identified with their work. Contributing to meaningful community service is a great need for many people working in this industry. On the other hand, we often experience disappointment when we encounter the limits of our actions and realize that not every obstacle can be overcome with enthusiasm. Burnout is a big challenge for many people in the nonprofit sector, and it's not easy to overcome. MISSION OF THE PENGUIN PROJECT The mission of "The Penguin project" is to support workers in culture with tools tailored to them. Thanks to them, cultural institutions (and the workers themselves) can find a sustainable approach to the energy of your employees. Our goal is for cultural workers to develop a reflective relationship to their work and learn to work with a fine line between motivation and burnout . TOOLS We have named our approach "from the heart to the brain, from the brain to the hands" and we have developed several metaphors for it, which we provide as tools for reflection . These metaphors act as a catalyst that helps in the translation from the emotional plane to the rational one. I'm more like a penguin on land in my work, or like the one in the water? Metaphors work on both an individual and corporate level: Using them, individuals can simply assess their relationship to work and find out where and how they "recharge" and what, on the contrary, takes away their energy. At the organizational level, metaphors provide a basis on which teams can reflect and change their organizational culture . Metaphors work on both an individual and corporate level: Using them, individuals can simply assess their relationship to work and find out where and how they "recharge" and what, on the contrary, takes away their energy. At the organizational level, metaphors provide a basis on which teams can reflect and change their organizational culture . THE ROLE OF MOVE OSTRAVA MOVE Ostrava introduced an important element of movement and a focus on physical well-being into the project. Jana Ryšlavá and Iveta Zedková led, for example, a workshop focused on embodied learning and dance therapy. It revealed to the team the potential of using bodies as sensors to tune in to what lies beneath the surface, deep within our minds. Furthermore, under their guidance, the so-called Movement toolkit was created, which together with other practical materials can be found in the project's online educational platform Learning platform . TRAIN THE TRAINER PROGRAM In 2023, we organized the first year of the Train The Trainer program for 11 cultural workers from 8 countries of the European Union. During this ten-month "course", participants acquired the skills and mindset necessary to support sustainable working conditions in the independent cultural sector. The program focused on the development of practices oriented to human needs and the search for ways of establishing the emotional well-being of workers in creative environments. The basis of this program is the fusion of art and science , the emphasis on the emotional dimension , the acquisition of knowledge and the ability to transform it into practice . Graduates of the program are now equipped with the necessary knowledge to implement workshops and methods to raise awareness of this issue. PARTNERS Funded by the European Union.
