Culture and art hold an irreplaceable place in every one of our lives. That's why it's important to cultivate a warm relationship with them from an early age, during which our interests, values, and sense of aesthetics are shaped. For these very reasons, we have decided to emphasize the program line dedicated to our (youngest) audiences and their parents.
WHY GO TO A MOVEMENT, DANCE, OR NEW CIRCUS PERFORMANCE WITH A CHILD?
They support children's creativity and imagination.

These are interactive experiences that allow children to engage with the story and experience it through their own senses.

FROM ZERO TO 100+
MOVE Ostrava has long been known for breaking boundaries—both generational and genre-related. Therefore, even in this "young audience" line, we select performances for a wide range of age groups and across genres. In June, we will present the unique Norwegian project Rock Me Baby at the Puppet Theatre in Ostrava, suitable even for newborns from 0 years old! In other summer projects, preschool and school-age children will find something to enjoy. In the 2024/2025 season, we are planning collaboration with the Young Audience Club with schools based on creative learning principles. Currently, you can look forward to a new performance from this line every two months.
However, children’s performances at MOVE Ostrava don’t mean boredom for parents! We emphasize quality here as well, choosing projects where adults will also find something enjoyable—whether it's through deep themes or exciting stories. For example, while the play Výmyselníci (Inventors) in July will captivate children with its playfulness and interactivity, you’ll surely be impressed by their acrobatic performances.
Of course, we maintain a balanced mix of genres, and thus, even performances for young audiences include contemporary dance, physical theatre, and new circus, which form the core pillars of contemporary performative art.
SO WHEN WILL YOU COME?
On the eve of International Dance Day, we will present a dreamy production by the Slovak Theatre Štúdio tanca from Banská Bystrica at the Puppet Theatre in Ostrava, with two afternoon performances. In this movement performance, alongside professional dancers, children also perform on stage, taking you and little dreamers on a journey to the land of fantasy, where nothing is impossible.
In collaboration with the Tanec Praha festival, we will bring a true Norwegian punk-rock concert with the expressive title Rock Me Baby to the Puppet Theatre in Ostrava in June. But don't worry, the premiere was preceded by thorough research on children's perception, and the sound levels are set to ensure that even the smallest ears stay safe 😉.
The last summer venture for both little and big curious minds will be the aforementioned Výmysleníci (Inventors), who, in mid-July, will transform Černá louka into a place of exploration and discovery. Will you join their new circus "invention"?
