CARPE(T) DIEM RELOADED
Annotation
The performance Carpe(t) Diem Reloaded can be set in any unique environment, where it transforms the original concept into a form of a performative walk.
In the 2024/2025 season, we invite you on a journey into the depths of the industrial site of the former coal mill and tipper FUTUREUM, where the original performance gently intertwines with the atmosphere, space, and echoes of Ostrava's history.
Carpe(t) Diem, or how to enjoy life when several carpets are competing for your attention at once? The answer can be found in this dance-movement performative walk with aerial acrobatics performed by Jana Ryšlavá, Jindřich Panský, Alžběta Tichá, and Viktorie Szalóczi. Enjoying every moment is not as easy as inspirational books often promise. Joyful moments can quickly turn into obstacles that make our path more difficult. But what’s beautiful is when we overcome these challenges with ease and a smile, even accepting a fall with grace. And perhaps, in the end, it will be the carpet that offers us a sense of safety and comfort, helping us to overcome obstacles with a smile on our faces.
The performative walk takes place in the former industrial building of Futureum, where you enter at your own risk, and it is necessary to respect the rules of the space. The walk route is unfortunately not suitable for people with limited mobility or children under 10 years old. For safety reasons, children aged 10 to 15 will only be allowed entry if accompanied by an adult. We recommend sturdy, closed footwear for comfortable movement throughout the event.
