Dear dance professionals from the Czech 🇨🇿 and Slovak 🇸🇰 republics,
we are very pleased to announce an open call to participate in the Czech and Slovak versions of The Urge project - The Urge Grows.
🤸🏼♂️ Choreographer Ceren Oran (DE), MOVE Ostrava (CZ) and Tanečno (SK) are looking for dancers with strong dance-technical knowledge and improvisational skills who are interested in participating in an innovative performing project, which will take place in public places in the Czech Republic. and the Slovak Republic.
❗️ "The Urge" aims to take a closer look at the behavior of individuals during a collective crisis. With his work, Ceren Oran draws attention to the relationship between collective trauma and each person's unique way of dealing with it.
📍 The performance is designed as a simultaneous presentation in public space in 3 cities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The aim is to present contemporary dance as a form of performance and to confrontative it with a wider audience in unexpected spaces.
📅 The period of rehearsals and presentations of the project will take place between 15th and 30th June 2022. Other dates of reruns in the period July and August 2022 are under discussion.
📝 If you are interested in the project and would like to be a part of it, please fill in this form no later than February 11, 2022. The project participants will be selected by the choreographer and the creative team based on the submitted videos. You will be notified of your non/acceptance by February 20, 2022.
💰 The project is supported by Czech and co-production grants, which provide fair and adequate funding. This support will cover the costs of participation and the financial reward, about which the participants will be informed by the regional organizers.
