DIVOKÉ HUSY / WILDE GEESE

The performance Wild Geese tells stories suspended between sky and earth — about freedom, courage, and friendship, about piles of wood and vast frozen lands. It intertwines circus, dance, and movement-object theatre, drawing inspiration from Central European fairy-tale heroes, Arctic sagas, and the creators’ own experiences from Greenland, the tundra, and the taiga of the Far East.

The project explores the theme of nomadism and communication between humans and wild nature. How can we honor nature and live within it humbly and with dignity? How can we take only what we truly need? How can we belong to the landscape alongside all living beings around us? Wild Geese is about listening to nature — not commanding it, yet not submitting to it either.

"We wished to spread our wings and fly. So high that human sight can barely reach, where no words are heard, only the wind. And to fly all together. We wished to become fearless, to face fear and all challenges as bravely as heroes do. And never to abandon one another. We wished to find a safe nest and stand by each other, no matter what.

One spring morning, we awoke with goose wings. At that moment, we did not yet know that a long journey to the north awaited us. Wind. Snow. Rain. Frost. Blinding light. High waves. Icy mountains. Endless forests and deep waters.

Courage is not a risk. Courage is trusting in oneself and supporting others. Responsibility is not giving yourself away to everyone around you.

Responsibility is setting your moral compass in the right direction.

Friendship is not dependence. Friendship is acceptance and selfless love.

Freedom is not just taking off. Freedom is the art of flying. And above all, flying together."

When human energy converges with the themes of wild geese, the Arctic environment, and Central European woodlands, it can create a vivid, fantastical landscape of resilience and the strength of living beings in harsh conditions—a landscape of faith in friendship, the search for balance, freedom, and places where humans can merge with nature.

The upcoming Divoké husy is aimed at creating an imaginative performance for children aged 6 and up, conveyed through the language of dance and physical theater, aerial acrobatics, and original music, tightly interwoven with voice.
