Do you identify as a woman and work in performance, physical theatre, contemporary dance or aerial acrobatics? Then read on! Together with partners from Slovenia, Croatia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Romania, we are looking for performers to join the international contemporary circus project FOREST, led by Slovenian artist Danijela Zajc.

FOREST is the third and final part of a trilogy exploring female identity, ecology, and resistance to patriarchal-consumerist systems. Through movement, acrobatics, live music and powerful visual language, the project asks how to survive within a world rushing toward collapse — and how to reclaim strength, connection and collective resilience.

The Czech–Slovak version of the performance will be created during a joint creative residency in Košice, where the premiere will take place on 12 November 2025 at Tabačka Kulturfabrik. Two days later, on 14 November 2025, the piece will be presented in Ostrava as part of the prestigious international platform La Nuit du Cirque, which connects contemporary circus across Europe.

ℹ️ This open call is intended for local performers based in the Czech Republic who are interested in working within an international creative environment. The working language is English, and full participation conditions are detailed in the application form.

Please submit your application by 31 July 2025

🟢 This project is supported by the Perform Europe programme. More information available here.
