Dance Prague in Ostrava: A rock experience for the little ones and a slightly different street dance in the picturesque setting of Farská zahrada

This year, Ostrava, thanks to its long-standing collaboration with the Tanec Praha festival, will host two unique world-class performances selected from their carefully curated program. As always, you can look forward to one indoor and one open-air project, ensuring quality, talent, and entertainment. This year, the performances are suitable for all age groups!
Rock Me Baby: A punk-rock concert suitable for ages 0 to 100
Newborns, infants, toddlers, and other little ones, along with their parents, can look forward to a true rock concert like Ostrava has never experienced before. The Norwegian music and movement performance Rock Me Baby arrives with a five-member queer ensemble in glittery costumes and punk hairstyles! It's an unexpected, playful, and yet sensitive experience guaranteed to impress 👩🎤
The creators, Karstein Solli and Øystein Elle, have extensive experience working with young audiences, and their work is backed by thorough research. While Rock Me Baby may seem wild, don’t worry—everything is designed to ensure the safety of even the youngest viewers.
The performance is for children from 0 years old and lasts 45 minutes. But feel free to come without kids as well, because Rock Me Baby is a sensational experience for all age groups!
Fantasie minor: A meeting of classical music, street dance, contemporary dance, and the genius loci
On the other side of the spectrum, the Ostrava section of Tanec Praha will present the outdoor project Fantasie minor. Choreographer Marco Da Silva Ferreira was inspired by one of the most significant piano pieces, Fantasie in F minor by Franz Schubert, and created a dance duet that, like the composition itself, combines emotional depth, contrasting mood shifts, and technical complexity.
Anka Postic and Chloé Robidoux, two young street dancers, will take you into a world where classical music meets the dynamism and joy of movement. We believe that the outdoor version of the performance, set in the beautiful surroundings of Ostrava’s Farská Garden, will add an even greater sense of freedom and naturalness to the experience.
