TREMULA

WEDNESDAY
AUGUST 20,
6:30 PM

The performance will take place as part of the Léto v centru project in collaboration with Centrum PANT.

Fire. Calm. Energy. Motion. Trembling. And the search for balance.

Tremula is physical poetry for all who long to pause yet be carried away at the same time.

Come and experience a unique moment on the edge between ecstatic joy and profound suffering. Tremula will take you to a place where time slows down, and every movement carries weight. In the open-air version of this performance, the worlds of dance, music, and visual art will merge in Farská zahrada.

Tremula explores the boundaries between physical exhaustion and absolute calm, between moments of disaster and inner harmony. What happens when bodies, in their search for balance and stability, find strength in physicality itself? Where does everyday fatigue end, and where does the exhausting beauty of rest begin?

The answer lies in the unique collaboration of Eliška Brtnická, Martina Hajdyla, and director Jana Stárková, who, together with composer Ian Mikyska and visual artist Pavel Havrda, have created a powerful (and not only physical) experience.

Come immerse yourself in this intense performance, which will gain an unrepeatable atmosphere in the setting of  Farská zahrada.

We step into a moment already in motion. Are we at the beginning or the end? The last tremors, the fading fire… the aftermath of a natural force or an ecstatic state? A moment of total bliss or immense suffering? Or simply the everyday fatigue of ordinary life? It is time to pause. To remain still for a moment. Where flames burned just moments ago, now there is calm. Bodies are exhausted, time has slowed. Finally, rest. But how long can it last?

The perception of time differs among living beings. Humans strive for speed and productivity, yet they find value in permanence and endurance. The root system from which we grow forms the foundation of our existence. We support one another, creating a shared space. Malleable bodies, growing stronger in their search for direction, become stable pillars.

In Tremula, artist Eliška Brtnická and dancer Martina Hajdyla*meet on stage for the first time. Together with director Jana Stárková, they explore the intersections of their artistic approaches through pure physicality, further developed in collaboration with composer Ian Mikysk and visual artist Pavel Havrda.
