Creative education is not a trend. It is a way of teaching differently—through experience, the body, collaboration, and imagination. And we are glad that today these forms of education are being discussed across society much more than before. At MOVE Ostrava, we have believed in them deeply for a long time. That is why we were delighted to take part in the call by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic to support creative learning projects—and even more delighted when we received the support.

In 2025, we were able to realise a series of performances of the family new circus production Divoké husy (Wild Geese), each accompanied by follow-up workshops for school groups. Divoké husy thus travelled across the Czech Republic to:

  • Varnsdorf Municipal Theatre

  • Cirqueon in Prague, where we performed for children from a camp for Ukrainian refugees

  • Puppet Theatre in Ostrava

  • Primary School in Raškovice

  • Moving Station in Plzeň

In total, nearly 1,300 participants - both children and adult educators - were engaged and inspired through this creative education initiative. And all of this was possible because Divoké husy is not just a performance, but a lived experience. Through movement, working with materials, and collective creation, both children and adults develop principles of collaboration, trust, and shared responsibility. They learn to perceive others (and themselves) in ways that go beyond traditional teaching methods.

The follow-up workshops transform the audience experience into an active process. Children can try out balance, physical work, and team dynamics themselves. Educators gain concrete inspiration on how movement and art can be integrated into education as a fully-fledged learning tool. We believe that real change begins precisely here - when creative approaches become a natural part of teaching, rather than just an exceptional event.

We will continue these activities, among other things within the CUKR – Centre for Art and Creative Educationproject, which systematically supports the integration of creative learning into school practice and strengthens cooperation between the cultural and educational sectors.

We thank the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic for its support and all our partners and schools for their trust. We keep flying forward.
